A Fire Manager is normally the designated manager in house with responsibility for fire safety.

The number of Fire Managers in a building may vary depending on size and complexity. In some buildings it may just be one. In others there may be several Fire Managers.

Who should normally undertake the Fire Manager role?

There is no set rule as to who should perform the Fire Manager role. However it is commonly fulfilled by the HR Manager, Facilities Manager or Health and Safety Manager.

What training should a Fire Manager have?

A Fire Manager should have specific Fire Manager Training. They should also hold Fire Awareness and Fire Warden training prior to attending the Fire Manager Training.
